Making Porcelain Dolls

As I write this I just can't wait to cast some porcelain dolls from the new porcelain slip from New York Doll Products.

The other day I tried to use a bottle of porcelain slip I have had hidden away for a number of years at the back of a cupboard. It was all I had left.

Well I ended up totally exasparated, covered in glug, and very bad tempered. I threw it in the rubbish, and took to all my equipment with the garden hose.

You have to be able to laugh at yourself I thought as I headed for the shower.

The new porcelain slip is a delight to use. It comes in a 3 litre box with a plastic liner. You simply cut a hole in the bottom corner, release the top catch and creamy fluid slip is ready to pour into your dispensing container, slow stirring all the time.

I always put mine through a sieve that I stand on the top of my wide necked jug.

When trialing the porcelain slip I found delightful plastic jugs with plastic lids to be so wonderful.

These are fantastic for storing and pouring smaller porcelain dolls.

On the lids I write the porcelain slip name, Lady White, French Bisque, Nordic White.

A tiny letter on your greenware, and you know which porcelain slip you have used. Keep them on the shelf with the lid sealed down - ready to go.

I found the porcelain slips all fire at Cone 6.

When you order porcelain slip you will all receive a FREE jug with your initial order.
